Located in a picturesque setting, the waterwheel has been restored and now moves freely. The millpond is one of the most important wetland sites in Crawley and supports many bird species such as moorhen, reed bunting and wagtail, plus butterflies, newts, toads, dragon flies and damselflies. Split in two by the railway, the millpond also supports an abundance of wild plants such as yellow iris and bulrush.
